The Rotary Clubs in Burlington were the force behind the original capital campaign to build the Carpenter Hospice.
In fact, the official name of the Hospice is the Rotary Hospice known as Carpenter Hospice.  Len Carpenter contributed a significant amount of money and that’s when his name was added.
The Ribfest each year is solely put on by The Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore with a huge cadre of volunteers.  100% of the funds raised goes to community needs and charities. Historically we have had a VIP area and tickets have been sold for various events to the public.

A new model of event is being tested this year… Since we turn around and donate all profits to charities anyway, we thought….why not partner UP FRONT with other Burlington charities.  Carpenter Hospice holds a special place in the hearts of Rotarians and for most of Burlingtonians.

So, The Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore chose Carpenter Hospice as its organization of choice for this year’s VIP event.

  • This allows us to theme an evening
  • Raise funds for a very worthy cause
  • Carpenter Hospice is launching their “Make Room” campaign coinciding with Ribfest.
  • This also brings some more awareness to the good works of the Hospice
  • It also shines a light on the good works of Rotary
  • In light of The Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore crucial role in the birth of the Hospice, this is a fitting “full circle” connection as they launch their “Make Room” campaign.

The evening (Saturday, September 2nd) is a special “all you can eat” catered Rib Dinner with a selection of award winning Ribs from 3 “best rib” winners.  An upscale fancy bar with some signature drinks is provided.  One of the real perks for those who have attended Ribfest before are the dedicated VIP executive washrooms. :)  There is a front and centre view of the stage featured “Freedom Train” this year at the event.  There is also a Lakeside Patio.
In fact, it is one of the best ways to experience Ribfest.  The VIP area usually attracts people who might not like the crowd but are still Rib Lovers or want to support specifically the charity.  Or, they just enjoy a good party in a park with great entertainment.  And one of the best parts is the fact that it’s a casual, jeans affair…….not your usual dress up Gala affairs.  It’s just a lot of fun.

Speaking of Galas…….there is a place for them as well.  Vince Molinaro and his wife Tina have agreed to act as Gala Chairs this year for Carpenter Hospice which will be held in February.
On Saturday you will see some Carpenter Hospice volunteers requesting donations for the Hospice at the entry gates of Ribfest.
There will also be Tip Boxes at all the bars across the park for the Hospice.  So, basically, Saturday is Hospice Day at Canadas Largest Ribfest.
Carriage Gate Homes is the generous sponsor of the VIP area this year.

You can still buy single tickets or buy a table of 8 or 10.  $150/ticket with a $90.00 charitable receipt available.
